Chapter - 11
After my uncle, my cousin, Crinum, came in. For some reason, she was the only one.
"Kaffir...... actually, my wife won't come out of her room. I need you to soothe her."
My uncle said something quite pathetic and took my father away.
The rest of us looked at each other and chuckled.
"Hello, Crinum. Long time no see."
"Yes, Lycoris. Thank you for your letters."
As I greeted her smilingly, I was surprised at the changes in her.
She has grown taller and her body has become more feminine and round. Her waist and arms and legs were as thin as ever, but not fat. Her freckles, which used to be dark due to her very white skin, have faded considerably and will probably disappear within a few more years. The fragrant oil she wore in her hair smelled sweet.
My uncle probably doesn't recognize her because he lives with her, but she is much more mature than I was when we met before. Maybe that was her age.
"Crinum, you've become so beautiful after not seeing you for a while."
"What?"
"You were always a beautiful girl, but you've become more beautiful."
"That's too much praise, Licorice. You've grown up a lot. You've always been concerned about your droopy eyes, but they were always noticeable because of your childishly round outline. I think you're going to be very beautiful."
Crinum was the one who had clearly said too much. Maybe my face was red.
In the meantime, my aunt arrived, escorted by my father. She was very quick, which was quite a feat for my father.
Crinum and my aunt really do look alike when they stand side by side.
"Hello Lycoris. Thank you for worrying about her today."
My aunt smiled a little weakly, and I replied, "No, not at all." It is true that I was worried about Crinum, but the truth is that most of the reason I came here was because I wanted to meet Shade.
I guess when we are so focused on one thing, we forget to be considerate of others. Let's reflect on that.
Now, what happened to the "Shade"?
He did not show up at this time or at the dinner table afterwards.
The reason why he didn't show up at the dinner, according to my aunt, was because he was 'not polite.'
"He is not polite. He doesn't want to be at this kind of dinner."
I think this is very possible. It's only the upper class that expects politeness at meals, and I doubt if I would have been able to learn the complicated manners at meals unless I had been taught them as a matter of course from an early age.
Still, my aunt's words had a coldness to them, as if she was cutting us off.
Considering the fact that she didn't want to appear in front of us, her feelings toward her son-in-law seemed to be complicated. That's not surprising.
My uncle, on the other hand, said.
"Yes, Lycoris. Can you teach him some manners if you want? He's a little shy, but I'm sure he'll forgive you for being his age."
Uncle, I think it's a lot of positive thinking to believe that a 'shy child' would be able to forgive a relative who just appeared out of nowhere. There's no such thing as all is well between children. I won't say it.
Crinum was very quiet during the dinner. To be honest, I was very curious about how she felt about my brother, but I couldn't ask her directly.
After the dinner.
Finally, my father and I came face to face with Shade, who was accompanied by my uncle.
Shade was an adorable child, like an angel.
His golden brown hair was soft and framed his cheeks, and his eyes was a darker brown..., but on closer inspection they were more reddish than brown.
His skin is translucent white, and his cheeks are rosy. I never thought the day would come when I would seriously describe a boy this way.
However, his body was very slender and thin.
When I think of men my age, I can't help but think of Wolf. He has been getting stronger and stronger lately, so he's not a good comparison. But even so, he is thin. I wonder if he had poor nutrition in his childhood.
"This is Shade. Shade Lacart."
As if in response to my uncle's words, as usual, my head was flooded with information.
Shade. In the game, he is a fifth year student at the same magic school as the heroine. In other words, he was sixteen years old. In the game, he is a fifth-year student at the same magic school as the heroine. In the game stills, he is smiling vivaciously or somewhat seductively.
Contrary to Wolfgang's misogyny, Shade is a womanizing character. However, there is a slight problem with his womanizing. He enjoys aggressively asking women out and sweet-talking them - and then pushing them away. I think he hates women, but if he only hated them, he wouldn't approach them. In other words, he has a love/hate relationship with them.
He is cheerful, sociable, and a good liar. He is a smart character.
His mother is a prostitute. His father is a nobleman. As soon as he was separated from his mother, he was neglected by his stepmother, and when he managed to escape and reach the nightlife where his mother was supposed to be, he had already run away with a new man. Such a painful past... Wait, wait, wait.
In this case, the father should be Uncle Narcissus. So this child is being abused by his aunt?!
"Shade, this is your cousin. This is Lycoris. Next to her is Lord Lyria, my brother-in-law. Look closely, both of you. He's got red in his eyes."
While this carefree uncle was opening the greenhouse. Oh, maybe while he was out coveting or buying some garden variety?
Something terrible has already happened.
And it's closer to me than I thought.
"My Lord. Ms. Lycoris. Please take care of him."
I'm not sure if it's a good idea, but it's a good idea. He looked like a boy who was afraid of the other person's status, but was still trying to be as polite as possible. That's what he looked like.
You can't tell what's really going on inside from the outside.
